And God Said Let There Be Rock! Brutal Legend Review

This is the stunning new game from EA and Double Fine, offering superb graphics, brilliant humour and Jack Black, this is brutal legend prepare to be rocked!

Jack Black plays a roadie who goes by the name of Eddie Riggs who has been putting him self out for a band for a while and they just make fun of him, things soon change though when the one member of the band is in trouble when confronted by demons from another world, he’s then summoned in to the dark and evil world and its now his mission to go from roadie to rock god.

The game play is really fun and enjoyable, especially with the destructible scenery that you can destroy when you’re fighting the evil forces. There’s also a choice whether you want to hear the swearing that is used or not and also there’s a choice to have full on gore or a clean game, I suppose this is good for the younger audience that would want to play this game, but if your older than the age rating I say stick on full swearing and full gore and let Jack Black take your ears and eyes on a gore filled swear fest.

The game handles so easily and you never get stuck for controls as it gives you a head up of the new button combos that are available to use with your new weapons that you pick up or your new team mate. The buttons combo’s are not long and complex which make it more fun instead of picking you brain trying to think of the combination.

Along the lines of graphics the game is stunning, the lighting of the dark world is perfect and the facial expressions are superb. Running in full HD its really something to look at and enjoy fully, especially when you have heads flying around the screen as you chop them off with your axe that you acquire on your travels or brilliant flashes of lightning as you strike down the enemy with your rocking guitar, or the burst of flames as you boost your car up with a shot of nitro.

When you busy cutting up bad guys or driving your nitro injected car that you built up or your kick arse motor bike you get to do it to a rather pretty awesome sound track. There’s a pretty good collection of audio tracks that play as you battle through your missions such as Ozzy Osbourne, Motorhead, Rob Halford and many others. The music obviously suits the game but makes it a lot more fun and gets you in to the rhythm of the game and in to the rocking out and killing some bad guys mood.

This is a game that you will play and even if you don’t like the type of music that’s playing you can always turn it off because the game play is just brilliant, smashing through demon worlds and slaughtering endless amounts of evil guys isn’t something you should pass up, and if you get bored of doing just the single player missions then you can always try your luck at surviving the online battle of the bands death match mode which also kicks arse.
