Got any caps ?. Fallout 3 Review

The year is  2077, not long after the conflict. It seamed the end of the world but it was just the start of the apocalypse which is just a prologue for another chapter.

Fallout 3 delivers exactly what it intends to with is dark sense of humour which lightens up the mood for the people spread across a world that has been ravaged by the nuclear holocaust. You find your self being born in to the so called perfect society inside vault 101, but like doesn’t stay Peachey for long when the story unravels and takes a unsuspecting twist.

When you’re exploring the waste land you get a feeling that you have been whisked away in to the wastelands which is like a scene out of a mad max movie. The area of Fallout 3is pure limitless freedom due to the sheer size of the wasteland. You could start in one corner and end up in the next in an hour or so later that’s if you don’t get torn apart by the hungry mutants waiting for you.

The full H.D is purely stunning on the eyes which is awe inspiring through a H.D compatible TV. To add to the H.D experience they have thrown in some awesome sound effects that get your ears twitching especially when a bullet goes whizzing past your ear or the heavy foot steps of a mutated animal coming for a piece of you.

The maximum use of the controls on all formats has been put to full use and work in perfect flow with the game.

Thanks to the Vault-Tec engineers you have yourself a handy little gadget called the Pip-Boy 3000 which makes the control of the game that more enjoyable. With the unique feature called V.A.T.S ( Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System) Which allows you to freeze time in combat, to target a specific body part on you target which means a guarantee hit and possibly fatal damage to your opponent and you can always use it to scan the area for any enemies if you cant be bothered to check your little compass in the bottom left of the screen but your Pip-Boy is more than just a device for combat it also gives you a heads up display of what items and how much of that item you have. And it also provides a map and some very useful stats such as experience and how close or how far you are from gaining the next level and how well you are doing with the perks that are available at the start of each new level in your experience.

The display on screen is really simple but yet explains what you need to know such as your health and your ammo and of course your compass which comes in handy when your on a quest to find what ever your asked to find or something you need to find for your self or you could use your Pip-Boy for a more detailed map.

But be careful because there is enemies floating all about the place but as long as you have the fire power and your trusty Pip-Boy 3000 not even the super mutants will be able to stop you unless they get a hit in first which will most likely take your head off or if  your lucky just your arms.

But not to worry because if you do die you will be taken back to the last save point which means you can go and take revenge.

This is a very vast game and does require some patients when going from one place to another due to the sheer scale, but the game its self gameplay wise is by far one of the best to date and will keep you picking your brain for hours on end each day.
