Drifts Like A Dream! OutRun Online Arcade Review

The Original classic from the Sega Mega Drive is back on the next-gen consoles the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 with some very nice results.

For those who remember the original game of Outrun will remember how much fun and enjoyable it was to drift you way slowly around the corners of the road in a very low detailed car which was powered by a 16-Bit engine AKA the Mega Drive, but yet was still enjoyable and now the game has hit the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 it has had a rather well deserved face lift.

The face lift has gone really well giving the game a really nice shiny crisp clean new look and the cars are very nicely detailed and also you can choose the colours of your Ferrari which is very cool and means you don’t have to be trying to look cool racing around in the typical red Ferrari and also you get to choose from 10 fully licensed high performance Ferraris so you can race new or old models depending on your taste or just your mood.

The game controls like a dream and the cars drift so nicely around the corners with grace and style, and let’s be honest what’s better than drifting around the roads in a Ferrari and weaving in and out of cars and cheating all the narrow misses which make you think wow that was close, the best thing is that any one can drift its not one of them games where you have to know when to tap the brakes then back on the accelerator its just pure and easy fun in this game which is most enjoyable indeed.

There’s 15 different challenging courses to get through that is if you don’t run out of time because your to busy smashing up your car against the crash barriers or in to the back of lorries or busses, each turn off for the next stage has its own difficulty’s for example the one way could be longer to the other and means you will have to drive more skilfully to reach the check point before your time runs out and then your just sat there as your girlfriend slaps the poop out of you for not winning which is quite amusing, and also depending on which route you take means you will end up finishing at different finish lines, finishing at each different finish line is a tuff challenge  on its own.

As well as there being 15 different ways along the course there’s also various game modes which are : Outrun mode, Heart Attack mode and time attack mode, each has there own very challenging edges like the Outrun mode is based on making it to the goal in time and the heart attack mode is impressing your girlfriend by doing some pretty nifty driving and the time attack mode really is just foot to the floor and beat the track records which isn’t a easy task to do.

this is one of the old retro games that has been bought back and has been bought back really well and is very worth the buy especially if you like the challenge of racing against other people all over the world to prove you’re the best.
