Play that funky music! Popstar Guitar review
Crack your knuckles and stretch and warm up and get ready to pull some shapes in Popstar Guitar.
Created by Xs Games and distributed by Midway Popstar guitar is fun for all the family and easy for the younger generation to use unlike some of the band simulation games that are out today on the shelves. Popstar Guitar not having a big guitar to have to hold which is some times difficult for kids to do and to play the corresponding buttons but if they prefer the guitar there is one available online.

The brains behind Popstar Guitar have cleverly invented the AirG which is a simple cover that clips over your Wii remote to act as the neck of a guitar hero style guitar and the thumb stick to strum the strings in time with the music which is fun and lot more free moving and easy to use in both the single player and multiplayer mini games that are available.
Popstar Guitar sees you as a striving musician wanting to start a band and go around the world playing live venues and being able to spend money in shops to enhance your performance and improve your live shows for the flocking fans. As you enter the game you will have the choice of three preset bands or a custom option in which you can create your own, band 1 is a girl band with a boy member to cover the male vocals in songs, band 2 is the same lay out as band one except it contains boys and one girl to cover the female vocals in the songs you cover and band 3 is a boy / girl band which has 2 boys and 2 girls and then there is the custom which is self explanatory.

The main game menu also contains options for things like band space which is things like where you can practice with your band but only becomes available after your band has grown in popularity which goes through stages for example a little room to a big expensive room with all the gubings, also the main game menu contains things to change your bands name and select a venue in the world to play which is shown by a map of the world when you can afford it the available areas are green and when you cant they are red which makes it easier for the younger generation to understand.
Taking centre stage when you have chosen your bands name or even if you just want a practice you have over 50 well known pop hits to choose from to play along to or to practice to or to go on the road with, you get the choice of artists such as Rihanna or Fall out boy or Jonas brothers and many many more as you progress further through the game.

Progressing through the game earns you more money and earning more money means better equipment such as better stage lights and paying for videos to be made of your band for music videos and to promote your band for upcoming releases and shows.
There’s loads of things to do in Popstar Guitar like there is to do in Guitar hero world tour , and if both were in a battle I am sure that they would come out level pegged due to this game being so close to guitar hero world tour. This is a ideal gift for a Christmas present or just a general buy its well worth the money and the kids will love it and so will you we are sure.
Also you can check out the game in action in the Video gallery for Pop Star Guitar at TestFreaks
