Yo Joe! G.I Joe Rise Of The Cobra Review

Some of you remember G.I Joe from when you was younger, well know its back and ready to unleash a whole lot of action at you.
As well as G.I Joe being a new smash hit action packed movie it’s also been made in to this action packed game from ea games but instead of a direct copy all of what you see in the movie it has new parts added to it so its not predictable once you have seen the movie.
You play as various characters which consist of 16 people including some cobras and soldiers, you have the various types of people who have all their own specialties like heavy weapons and explosives and other weapons that can do as much damage and that can pack as much as a punch and also there is pickups that increase your weapons strength and your special abilities.

The story line is that G.I Joe is called in to mopping up a splinter group led by COBRA weapons supplier M.A.R.S. industries, so its up to you to fight off the last remaining force after a invasion that didn’t go there way.
The game handles and controls really easily and has a very strong arcade shooter feel to it where you just keep going forward and shoot and move forward. The controls are fairly basic but are enjoyable which is something I’ve said for a while games controls could be really complex and just is rubbish and could be simple and really enjoyable. The game features a cover system that is seen in a few games these days which is rather use full when under a lot of fire from enemies and allows you to quickly pop up and fire over the cover and then quickly pop back down.
The main parts of the game may handle well but there is also driving involved where this doesn't handle as well as regular walking and shooting controls, its a little bit tricky to get used but once you have the hang of it i am sure you will still rather choose to fight on foot.
The graphics are not too bad they are easy on the eyes and the fmv’s are pretty well done and use a lot more of the graphic power to make it sleeker and less arcade looking. They run pretty smooth as well and don’t jump or go crazy to much when there’s a lot of action going on around you.

The game also has a single screen co-op play which instead of splitting your screen it just displays it on one and if someone falls behind it doesn’t cut them out of the picture it just zooms out so you can still see both of you, but if you’re playing on your own you can still have two Joes and switch between them any time you like so you can use their special abilities when you want because sometimes the other players abilities are always best suited for the different situations.
to round this game up its very much a game that you can wake up in the morning and feeling like there's nothing to do and pick up the pad and play this for a while and you wont be bored for a good while, its rewarding as well with its unlockable people and extras in the menus. Its a game worth getting if your in to your action style shoot the heck out of everything games and its also one for the younger age groups as it has no swearing.
