Friend Or Foe ? Resistance 2 Review

Developed by Insomniac games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment have rethought Resistance: Fall of man to bring you this awe inspiring first person shooter obviously named Resistance 2.
You once again play as the protagonist Nathan Hale who travels off to America to battle off a full scale Chimera invasion with his troops The Sentinels who are all part of a special task force group who like Nathan are resistant to the Chimera virus .

They have kept the controls basically the same as Resistance: fall of man the only minor changes is the tilt option on the six axis controller and the vibration for the new Ps3 pads. The game handles fine which is always a must have sussed thing in a first person shooter due to the amount that you depends on quick and easy control which is ideal use for them sticky situations and with aim assist its more enjoyable to blast them pesky Chimera and makes it less frustrating when confronted by a load of enemies.
The graphics have been bought up to date which is very noticeable on the various enemies that test your metal through out the game that were the main enemies in the first game including some new ones. Resistance 2 does boast some stunning graphics but the down side it doesn’t run in full H.D only in 720p, which is forgivable because you still have a very in depth and very immersive experience of the game although it lacks in the full H.D resolution that most H.D TVs run at.

Although the only running at 720p resolution the h.u.d is still sharp and really well laid out like in the first game but with some vast improvements such as the removal of the health bar, which is now a regenerating health system instead, which is indicated on the screen when you get hit or take damage you just need to take cover and let the regeneration system do its thing.
The audio has as well been touched up which sounds excellent when being run through a good sound system and is really crystal clear so it gives you the full on experience and adds to the whole atmosphere of the game especially when you can hear noises coming from you left and you turn and there’s a big old Goliath ready to blow you to bits.

Also in every good game these days which Is a must have, you have multi player and a ground breaking co-op online play or a co-op online competitive play which in all modes sees a big team of you either battling it out in one of the many multiplayer modes which are spanned across some of the best maps which are also editable for example if you wanted a team death match on a small map then you just select a map then select the small option or if you wanted a big map where you have more options of places to hide if your more in to the sniper weapons you just select large map after choosing your map.
The Co-op play has to be one of the best modes due to being able to go through the single player missions and finding all them important things to help you unlock them much sort after trophies, or you if you feel a bit competitive you could just choose the online co-op competitive play which sees you playing with others through single player missions but against them in respects to the points side so it’s a two sided battle you can either play through the levels racking up the points or you could play through the levels helping your fellow team mates and picking up the points.

All respects to Resistance 2 it has come on leaps and bounds since its predecessor Resistance : fall of man , it still has one or two bugs floating around in the game but it’s a really enjoyable game . There are some parts that will be having you ripping your hair out but that’s normal for first person shooters. It’s a recommended purchase by our standards.
